Boss Danny Grainger is thrilled to see goals coming from right across the pitch for his in-form Workington Reds side.

In Reds’ 5-1 success over Ramsbottom United, which saw them extend their lead at the top of BetVictor’s NPL North West Division table to four points last weekend, frontmen Scott Allison and Charlie Bowman were on target, while substitute Nathan Waterston also scored. But winger Dav Symington and midfielder Brad Carroll netted, too.

Workington’s thrashing of the Rams was the third time they had scored five or more goals in September.

And Grainger is thrilled with how his side is performing in front of goal.

He said: “I think, when you look at the scorers, only two or three players in the whole squad haven’t scored goals this season. For me, that’s a massive positive. You don’t want to have to [just] rely on strikers to score you goals.”
