Forest Green Rovers have confirmed the arrival of striker Omar Bugiel, subject to FA and National League approval, who joins the club from Ryman League Premier Division side Worthing.
The German has been one of the leading marksmen in the Ryman League this season, finding the net 15 times in league competition this term.
He has agreed a deal that will run until the summer of 2018 and joins for an undisclosed fee.
Previously a winner of the players’ and supporters’ player of the year accolades at Worthing, Bugiel has also represented Selsey and Burgess Hill Town earlier on in his career after moving to England six years ago.
He was born in Germany to a Polish mother and Lebanese father and has recently been working in part of the community department at Brighton & Hove Albion.
Commenting on his move to Forest Green, Bugiel said: “It is a higher division so I’ve got to prove myself. I’m definitely going to give one hundred per cent.
“I’m going to be working my socks off – I’ve always been like that – work rate is the main thing. If it doesn’t go your way you’ve still got to work hard. It only takes one chance to score a goal.
“I knew there was interest from higher up so I thought if I come down and show what I’ve got to offer then there was a chance I could get signed so I’m pleased”.
