Bobby Grant insists Wrexham remain in a great position and cannot be ruled out of title contention after losing their top of the table clash against Leyton Orient, The Leader report.

The Reds were replaced at the summit by Orient who won 1-0 at Brisbane Road with Marvin Ekpiteta’s 72nd minute deflected goal the difference between the sides.

Justin Edinburgh’s side are one point ahead of Wrexham and also have a game in hand, while Solihull Moors, AFC Fylde and Salford City are also in the hunt for automatic promotion.

Wrexham have nine games left, with five at home, and Grant says there is still a lot to play for.

“It is a difficult one to take for the simple reason the goal took about four deflections,” said Grant.

“Youngy has actually cleared the ball and it hit Rutherford, and I think it hit someone else before it bounced to him.

“As he hit the shot it took another deflection and gone in but that is the luck you need.”
