Wrexham AFC have signed Rekeil Pyke on loan from Premier League side Huddersfield Town.
The 20-year old forward links up with the Dragons for a second spell which will run until the end of the 2018/19 campaign.
Having progressed through the youth ranks, Pyke joined the Terriers aged 12 and progressed through the academy before signing his first professional contract in 2016 aged 18.
In November 2016 Pyke joined Wrexham on a short-term loan deal and made his senior debut away at Lincoln City, and would make a further two appearances before being recalled to the John Smith’s Stadium. Pyke would have a further loan spell with Colchester United to continue his progression and last season he joined Port Vale on a season long loan, before being recalled due to a hamstring injury.
Wrexham boss Sam Ricketts told WrexhamAFC.co.uk: “We’re pleased with capturing Rekeil, he’s been here before and knows the club, hopefully he can continue his progression with us and give us some firepower at the top of the pitch.
“The squad is coming together nicely now and bringing in Rekeil for the season allows him a length of time where all can benefit.
“He’s linked up with us in Portugal and hopefully he can hit the ground running and bed himself in with the rest of the lads quickly and build a good spirit in the camp going into the busy pre-season.”
