Wrexham boss Bryan Hughes is set to strengthen his squad amid the news that Brad Walker could miss the rest of the season along with Manny Smith, The Leader report.

On-loan Shrewsbury Town midfielder Walker has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury sustained in the 1-0 top of the table defeat at Leyton Orient on March 9.

The Shropshire club have indicated that Walker will be out for four to six weeks and might not be available before promotion chasing Wrexham’s final National League game against Harrogate Town on April 27.

“We are looking at Brad on a week to week basis, depending on how the healing process goes,” said Hughes.

“The initial diagnosis off Shrewsbury is that it is going to be four to six weeks so it is going to be bordering on the end of the season but we are hopeful to see Brad again.”
