JJ Hooper wants to keep scoring goals to repay the faith shown in him by manager Dean Keates.
The striker joined Wrexham in the summer following his release by Grimbsy Town and has endured an injury-hit campaign.
Now back to full fitness, Hooper has started the last six league games and scored a well-taken goal in Saturday’s 2-0 win against second placed Harrogate Town.
It was Hooper’s seventh goal of the season and the 26-year-old was delighted to get on the scoresheet after being thwarted by Town goalkeeper James Belshaw twice in the first half.
“I was a bit frustrated because the goalkeeper saved my chance in the first half,” said Hooper.
“I thought ‘why not have a go?’
“I created the space and Paul Rutherford made a great run across to create a bit more space.
“I was a bit frustrated again last week against Woking, the goalkeeper saved two of my shots, so it was nice to get a goal.”
