Wrexham say the club are ‘pausing’ their academy programme from today.

Although training was on as normal last night, local lockdown measures have meant the Reds have had to put plans on hold.

In addition, the club are withdrawing from the FA Youth Cup, ‘as a result of Welsh Government rules related to youth football.’

The club explain: “Current guidelines do not allow for matches to be played at that level, either in Wales or for a Welsh club playing away to English opposition.

“As a result, we cannot fulfil our FA Youth Cup second qualifying round fixture against Litherland Remyca.”
