Bobby Grant says the players have got to take “full responsibility” for Monday’s disappointing defeat against Hartlepool and that it is up to them to revive Wrexham’s fortunes.

Bryan Hughes’ side lost 4-2 at Victoria Park and have now gone three games without a win, leaving the 13th placed Reds nine points behind leaders Woking after seven matches.

Grant, who returned from a three-game ban and converted a consolation penalty, admits it is time for the players to step up to the plate.

“The result is not great,” said Grant.

“We have had a few harsh words. The manager can only tell us the tactics, it is up to us to take responsibility ourselves, go on that pitch and produce.

“The 11 that are out there need to take full responsibility for what happened.

“It is down to no-one else, we are the ones who go out on that pitch and it is down to us to show a lot more than what we are.”
