Bryan Hughes says Wrexham will be ready for a Boreham Wood backlash tonight, The Leader report.

The Wood were thrashed 4-0 at home by Hartlepool United on Saturday and have dropped to 15th in the National League.

Second placed Wrexham will go top with a win at Meadow Park but Hughes is taking nothing for granted and insists his players will be focused on the job in hand.

“Boreham Wood are not in the best of form, one win in the last 10, a heavy defeat at home to Hartlepool on Saturday, but they will want to try and make amends for that,” said Hughes.

“A 4-0 home defeat can have repercussions and it is usually the team that comes after that, which is us, so I am fully aware of that and I expect them to have a reaction for their manager as I would.

“It will be a tough game and we might go into the game as favourites on our current form but I will make sure the players’ mentality is right.”
