Wrexham striker Michael Bakare is heading back to his London base and will be joining Isthmian Premier League club Billericay Town on loan until the early January.

With opportunities limited at the Racecourse, it should be a good opportunity to get back to playing football and gaining some valuable minutes on the pitch.

The Essex club have been unfortunate of late to see a number of first teamers sidelined and prior to last Tuesday’s match with Folkestone, their injury ravaged squad saw no fewer than seven regulars ruled out. While they went down 1-0 on the Kent coast, that was only their second defeat in their last 12 games.

The necessary paperwork was signed on Thursday evening and submitted to the respective FA’s, so if clearance can be achieved in time, Michael will make his debut for the Blues at home to Metropolitan Police this weekend.

If not it will be Tuesday’s visit to AFC Sudbury – the start of five consecutive away matches for the Essex club.

Michael’s loan is due to run until at least Tuesday, 3 January, should give him the opportunity to play in some 10 games.
