Wrexham v Sutton United in the National League this week has been postponed after COVID-19 cases in Wrexham’s squad.

Wrexham have confirmed that a total of five players have returned positive tests, leading to the decision not to go ahead with the match.

A club statement begins: “As a result of this, the club’s Covid Medical Officer and the National League’s Covid Medical Officer have been in discussions. Their recommendation is that, as a precaution, all those players and staff who travelled by coach to Solihull Moors for last Saturday’s FA Cup tie should now self-isolate.

“Only one of the players who has since tested positive played in last Tuesday night’s match against Barnet. This means our National League fixture with Sutton United, due this Saturday, will be postponed until a later date, and with no game the following weekend, our next scheduled fixture is away to Weymouth on Saturday, 14 November.”
