Nuneaton Town ended the season with an entertaining 3-3 draw at Alfreton Town in a game which saw Academy youngsters, Michael Tweed, Ryan Richmond and Elliott Taylor, all make their mark.

“I was extremely proud of the way in which all three of them acquitted themselves,” said manager, Tommy Wright. “Each of them gave a good account of themselves and can be pleased with their performances.

“They have all progressed well and deserved the opportunity. Sometimes you have to be prepared to give young lads their chance and see what they are all about on this kind of stage.

“I felt that there were plenty of positives to come from each of them; they tired a little towards the end, but that is to be expected.

“What they did do, though, is prove that they are comfortable at this level and that stands us in good stead as we look towards next season.”
