2015/16 will certainly go down as one to forget for Corby Town supporters, however boss Tommy Wright wants his players to give the already relegated club’s fans something to smile about on the final day by recording a shock victory against play-off chasing Harrogate Town.
Wright told corbytownfc.co.uk; “Make no mistake about it, we are not going to Harrogate just to fulfil a fixture and get this season finished. Our performances and work ethic have been much better over the last few weeks, now I just want the lads to go and get the result that their performances have merited.
“Despite it being all a little too late in the terms of staying up, we have been pleased with their reaction since we have started to experiment with the shape and personnel with one eye on next season.
“Last week wasn’t the way that we wanted to finish our home campaign, we played well for much of the game but yet again whenever we concede a goal you can physically see the confidence draining out of our lads. This is our last chance to put it right.
“The team is heading to Yorkshire to play only for pride, but pride should be enough. They are playing for their own pride, their team mates’ pride, and of course the pride of our board and supporters. I want them to do everything possible to end the season on a high note.
