Nuneaton Town manager Tommy Wright was a happy man after seeing his side chalk up a deserved victory over last season’s runners-up Kidderminster Harriers.

“We were terrific throughout and if we had come away 3-0 winners, I don’t think that it would have been an unjustified scoreline,” he admitted. “To sneak it 1-0 at the death made the stadium erupt and the players left the club on such a high as I am sure you did as supporters.

“Both the team and individual performances were outstanding and I really hope that we can take this confidence into Saturday’s home game against Gainsborough Trinity.

“It has given us a platform on which to build from and with our injured players starting to return, I am expecting us to be able to go from strength-to-strength”.
