Southend United have signed Yeovil Town forward Rhys Murphy.
The 30-year-old joins Phil Brown’s side on a two-year contract with the option of a third year.
The former Arsenal prospect arrives following an impressive stint at Yeovil in which he struck 33 goals in 63 appearances.
Speaking to Southend’s website, he said:
“It’s nice to get the move sorted nice and early so there’s no stress over the summer, and I’m already looking forward to getting in, meeting everyone for pre-season and getting started.
“There’s been a few noises about the move and it’s been kept quiet until now, so it’s nice to finally have it announced and start meeting the fans, so to speak.”
