Yeovil Town have secured their fifth summer signing with versatile midfielder Albi Skendi arriving from Stratford Town.
The Albanian signs a contract at Huish Park after impressing on trial. Able to operate across midfield, in defence and up front, the 25-year-old joins the Glovers after helping Stratford to their highest ever league finish in the club’s history, starring in 2018/19.
With previous spells at Oxford City and Banbury United as well as stints in America with Los Angeles Wolfs and Marymount California University, the 6’4″ utility man now heads to Somerset on a permanent basis.
Commenting, manager Darren Sarll said: “All my career I’ve been fortunate to have been able to identify non-league players that can potentially have a bigger and brighter future.
“Because of the club’s relationship with Stratford Town, we were fortunate to have Albi in for a week’s training and he not only coped but exceeded all expectations.
“He’ll be a player the fans will connect with; a wholehearted, give everything for the greater good type player that will play a big part for the foreseeable future. This project is really early but very exciting and I’m looking forward to developing Albi further.”
