Yeovil Town boss Darren Sarll was a happy man after his latest signing Jimmy Smith came off the bench to score what turned out to be the winner on his Glovers’ debut.
Smith moved to Huish Park on loan from Crawley last week after being frozen out at the Sussex club so far this season.
With more than 400 senior appearances under his belt and more than 50 goals to his name, the 32-year-old arrived with an impressive pedigree.
And he settled Yeovil’s nerves when he came on in the second half with a composed midfield performance that was capped by scoring Town’s third goal.
“He’s a good player,” said Sarll after the fourth National League win on the bounce.
“He hadn’t played this season but came on and showed his quality and showed why you pay money for good players.”
