York City’s first game in their new stadium will not be next week as initially intended.
The National League North side were set to host AFC Fylde at the LNER Community Stadium on Tuesday 12th January.
The club, however, have explained: “Whilst this is frustrating and disappointing, especially now that the stadium has been completed, there are some fundamental issues which need to be resolved.
“These are proposed amendments, suggested by other parties, which would be a change to the original conditions of the Lease and Match Day Agreement.
“We are working hard to bring these matters to an acceptable conclusion and ensure commitments are met, so that the club’s long-term sustainable occupation of the new stadium is not adversely affected.”
