York City striker Amari Morgan-Smith has joined AFC Telford United on a free transfer.

Morgan-Smith, 28, spent just over 12 months at Bootham Crescent after initially arriving on loan from Cheltenham Town. Born in Wolverhampton, Morgan-Smith had been on the bench for the last four games and scored his final goal for the club as a substitute in the 2-1 home win against Bradford Park Avenue on January 13.

Manager Martin Gray said: “He needs regular first team football and Telford have offered him an 18-month deal. We wish him all the best for the future.”
