York City striker Louis Almond has been ruled out for between two and three months.
The 25-year-old former Tranmere Rovers and Southport marksman is to undergo surgery next week on the shoulder he recently injured against Tamworth.
Almond has scored just twice in fifteen games since arriving at Bootham Crescent over the summer, although showing regular glimpses of real quality.
“He goes in for an operation next week and I think he’ll be out for two or three months,” manager Martin Gray told BBC Radio York. “Which is a real disappointment because I felt he was starting to show good signs before he got that shoulder injury.”
