Torquay United midfielder Luke Young has agreed terms on a new contract and will be staying at the club
Young, 23, has impressed United fans with his impressive passing and spectacular goals since signing in June 2014.
The gifted midfielder has made forty-seven league appearances for United, but had his 2015/16 season largely curtailed by an anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered in pre-season training.
“It’s massive for the club that Luke is going to stay” said player-manager Kevin Nicholson.
“Luke was a big miss for us last season as he was injured for most of it. We all saw when he came back into the team, what a difference he can make with his quality on the ball and calmness under pressure.
“He’ll be doing a lot of fitness work with me over the close season and then he’ll be ready for the pre-season fixtures. I think we’ve yet to see the best of Luke Young. It’s very exciting to see what he’ll be capable of.”
Young joins Ben Gerring, Sam Chaney, and Will Hancox in committing to the club after contract talks.
