Hungerford Town have signed young goalkeeper Marcus Beauchamp.
Nineteen-year-old Beauchamp joined Norwich City’s academy in July 2014 as a scholar, playing in the under-18s.
He was formerly at Bristol Rovers and had spent time on trial at Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Blackburn Rovers earlier in 2014 before joining Norwich.
In May 2016, Norwich announced that they would not be offering Beauchamp a professional contract after he had struggles with injuries and that he would leave the club the next month.
He trialled with Bristol City, playing for their development squad against Hull, and played for Newport County in a pre-season friendly defeat to Welsh side Ton Pentre and as substitute in a 2-0 defeat to Coventry, and in August 2016, he signed a contract with the Exiles until the end of the 2016/17 season.
The ‘keeper, who won the 2014/15 Barclays Under-18s Premier League save of the season award, was released at the end of his deal.
