Youngster Eddie Clarke has signed his first professional contract with Tranmere Rovers until the end of the 2017/18 season.
The left-back has been doing his scholarship with the academy and has impressed sufficiently to be offered professional terms.
Youth team manager Andy Parkinson said: “Eddie has done really well with the youth team and shown great improvement during the time he has been with us.
“It is fantastic to see players coming through the Academy system and going on to sign professional contracts with the club.
“Eddie is a full-back who defends well but also enjoys getting forward and can help create chances with his excellent crossing ability.”
Chairman Mark Palios added: “I’m delighted to see another player coming through our Academy to sign a professional contract with the Club.
“The process of developing young players from the Academy will benefit further when we move to the new training facilities at Solar Campus.
“Tranmere has always been a club which has given youth an opportunity and this is just another example of that.
“I wish Eddie all the best and I’m sure he will have a successful professional career here at Tranmere Rovers”.
