Margate Football Club is delighted to announce that U18’s players Mitchell Laing and Sebastian Rowland have signed first team contracts and could feature in the squad this Saturday when the Blues travel to Berkshire to face Maidenhead United in the Vanarama National League South.
Both players have impressed this season for Paul Robinson’s side who remain on track for a treble this season after last Sundays 7-0 away win at Dulwich Hamlet where Rowland netted four times including a spectacular overhead kick.
Midfielder Laing who has also represented the Kent FA this season has also impressed in the 18’s squad and currently is top goalscorer in the squad.
Both players are available for selection in tomorrow’s fixture away at Maidenhead United and Manager Nikki Bull is delighted that both players will get their opportunity this season.
“Mitchell and Seb like Harry (Phipps) have all shown a great attitude and deserve their chance this season. I am not afraid to use the youth if they are good enough and these three certainly are”.
“Our supporters should be proud that we have such talent progressing through the youth set up at Margate. They will get their chance under my management and hopefully this is the start of more youth players being introduced into National League South football”.
