This past week Concord Rangers made a huge statement with regards to the development and progression of the youth sides by signing six players from the under-18s to their first-team squad.

Goalkeeper George Marsh is a former Dagenham & Redbridge youth who joined the Beachboys under-18s this season.

He has already shown great potential having impressed in pre-season when training with the first-team, and was included in the squad for the recent FA Cup game.

Charlie Seaden is a second year under-18 who has trained with the first-team on a number of occasions already, and was included in the 2016/17 pre-season squad.

He is a versatile, tenacious right-sided player who can play in defence and midfield.

Jed Smith has been a Concord youth for some time now, and was an integral part of the under-15s and under-16s County Cup-winning side.

The defender has attracted interest from pro clubs already and is in his first year as a Concord under-18.

One of the youngest players to ever sign forms with Concord Rangers is Henry Sims, at 16 years and 4 days.

Another member of that under-15s and under-16s County Cup winning side, he is a robust centre-midfielder who lists Dagenham & Redbridge as a former club.

Midfielders Sam Carter and Finley Dopson are both second year under-18s and were included in the squad for the recent FA Cup game against AFC Rushden & Diamonds.

Carter is the captain of the under-18s side, and is a combative, physical central midfield player, whilst Dopson is a lightning quick winger always looking to make something happen.

Meanwhile, another more experienced signing, joining earlier recruit Jordan Chiedozie, is 24-year-old Christian Nanetti.

Italian-born Nanetti moved to the UK to pursue his football career, starting out as a youth player with Queens Park Rangers.

From there he moved to Scottish side Raith Rovers in September 2010 and then on to Ashford Town (Middx).

During 2011/12 he played twenty-eight games for Lewes, scoring three times, and moved to Havant & Waterlooville in March 2012 where he scored 4 goals during the season run-in.

He went on to play forty-three matches in 2013/14, scoring 12 goals – 7 of which were from the penalty spot.

He signed for Dover Athletic in July 2014 and spent time on loan at Whitehawk before leaving for Walton Casuals in the summer of 2015 and then to East Grinstead Town in March 2016.
